Guernsey Literary Festival 2014

Prime Suspect author Lynda La Plante is the latest big name to sign up for the 2014 Guernsey Literary Festival.
This year's Guernsey Literary Festival looks to be the biggest and best yet with a range of big-name authors signed up. The multi-BAFTA winner will speak about her work at an evening event at St James on the opening day of this year's festival, Thursday 15 May 2014.
La Plante has created some of the best-known crime dramas on television, including Widows, Trial and Retribution, Above Suspicion and Prime Suspect. The latter starred Helen Mirren as DCI Jane Tennison and aired in the UK and the US. In 1993 she won an Edgar Allen Poe Award for her work on the series. Her next book, Driven to the Brink, is a standalone thriller centred round the disappearance of a schoolgirl which will be published in June this year.
