The Albany Apartments are happy to let you know that the The Guernsey Literary Festival has lined up some tops acts this year for a high energy night at the Fermain Taverne on Friday May 16th.

It's a joint header bill featuring Police Dog Hogan and The Black Kat Boppers. The Black Kats describe themselves as a hot boppin' groovin' four piece - Damon Albarn worked with them on their latest album and has joined them on stage too, along with Clash bass man Paul Simenon. They made a big hit at Glastonbury last year and have supported Blur and Florence and the Machine - not to be missed!

Appearing with them are eclectic seven piece Police Dog Hogan, featuring Guardian columnist and journalist Tim Dowling. Combining fiddle, banjo, mandolin, drums and guitars with knockout four part harmonies in an exuberant fusion of country, folk, pop, and rocking urban bluegrass. The telegraph named them as one of its ‘favourite new bands’, Radio 2 called them a ‘band to watch and veteran DJ Johnnie Walker praises their gigs as “just a really good, fun time”.

All this and young poet comedian Luke wright, who the Independent recently called “One of the funniest and most brilliant poets of his generation.” This is an event not to be missed!
